Mount
Eden Retreat
The Kindred Spirits Fair has taken place at Mount Eden Retreat for over
18 years. This blessed event has grown into a remarkable and colorful celebration
of life, and a wonderful opportunity for networking, learning and sharing
the pleasures of coming together in peace and harmony. There will be no
Kindred Spirits Fair in 2008. I am in mourning, and cannot do justice to
the demanding task of directing the production of the fair.
On December 12, 2007, my beloved husband of a lifetime, Harry Lipka was
kissed by God, and passed into Spirit. It happened suddenly, without warning.
Harry was a self made man, a survivor of the holocaust, a unique and entrepreneurial
character. Harry made Mount Eden Retreat possible. He found the property
in 1985, and offered it to me to create a retreat center. His hard work
paid the bills until we were able to generate enough participation to cover
our expenses. His generosity to Mount Eden was his greatest and most effective
philanthropy. He was very proud of what has been accomplished here, and
to honor his memory, we are having A MEDITATION SUMMIT at Mount Eden
on May 25. beginning at 11:00am.
I had a spiritual awakening in the 1960's, and in 1981 I finally found
a meditation style which worked so well for me, that I was able to make
phenomenal progress in my spiritual development. In appreciation of the
value of this tool I started a meditation group, and was able to help many
people begin and sustain a practice. I never charged a fee for this, as
it is a good deed to provide this instruction as a gift for humankind.
Each one needs to find a meditation style which works most effectively
for them. I have been inspired to create a program to assist beginning,
intermediate and advanced meditators. Mount Eden offers extraordinary spiritual
energy for a MEDITATION SUMMIT. Beginning with a mass meditation
in the form of a spiral dance around the labyrinth with the Peace Pole
at its center, we'll be chanting and drumming in unison. After a Hug break,
there will be 2 sessions offering three meditation choices with 7 different
styles of meditation from which to choose, and also it won't all be quiet
sitting. It will be a SPIRITUAL ADVENTURE! This day is a gift for all of
you, from Harry and me, and since May 25 is my birthday, I would love to
hug each one of you after the mass meditation!
A
donation of $5.00 is requested to help defray cost. Bring a picnic lunch
(we'll have beverages and healthy desserts for sale), folding chairs, blankets,
instruments, an open heart, an open mind, and your joy of life.
TENT
OF HEALING. A variety of Holistic Healing Arts practitioners
will be available to assist the body with the alignment of the Spirit and
the Mind providing 15 minute plus sessions @$15.00. Sign up for an appointment
in advance.
PLEASE
BE ON TIME! This day is designed for sequential deepening of the
experience, and will end with Shiva Dance, drumming and music.
VENDOR
INFORMATION: We invite vendors of meditation related items to set
up a table for the day. This will require a very reasonable vendor fee.
